The Adult Learning Resource Center has developed full vocabulary units for teachers who do not have vocabulary textbooks available. Each 10-word unit is designed to be taught over several class periods using direct and explicit instruction (explanation, modeling, practice and application). The units are downloadable Word documents so that teachers can personalize them.

If you want to include 10 words in a unit, combine two of the lessons. Word information charts, fill-in-the-blank, sentence completion, and other activities are part of each unit.
